When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.
Any request for the same day will be triaged by the duty doctor before an appointment time is allocated.
When the surgery returns your call, it is usually from a withheld number. Due to the system we operate, it is essential that we are kept up-to-date with changes to your contact details. If you have recently changed your home or mobile telephone number, please fill out a change of personal details form.

When booking a telephone consultation, please be prepared to tell the receptionist about your condition. The receptionists are not ‘being nosey’, they ask this information to prioritise the most urgent cases and arrange the most appropriate course of action. Practice nurses also offer advice on preventing illness through weight reduction, smoking cessation and other lifestyle changes.
Please select the best option for you at the time, bearing in mind that accepting a telephone consultation will enable the GP to see people with more complicated and on-going problems. If you are unsure which option is best for you, ask the reception staff for help.
If you feel that you need more time with the doctor/nurse to discuss several problems, please ask the receptionist to book you a double appointment.
Should more than one of your family need to see a doctor at the same time, please make this clear when booking your appointment. This will ensure that you have a separate appointment for each member of the family; thus allowing sufficient time for the doctor to assess each person’s medical needs.
All our clinicians endeavour to run to appointment times. However depending upon the complexity of the illness and any emergencies that can arise, they can run late. If you have been waiting longer than 30 minutes beyond your appointment time, please see reception. To assist the clinicians in running to time, please remember that one appointment is for one problem.
Patients have the right to express their preference of practitioner but cannot be guaranteed that this person will be available within 24 hours. Patients should be aware that all practitioners have access to their medical records and, therefore, can provide continuity of care.

We are an approved practice for the training of qualified doctors who have left hospital posts and now wish to become general practitioners.
On occasions, we may video tape consultations to assist in our training and assessment procedures. You will be informed if we are doing this and will only occur if we have your written consent. You always have the right to ask for the camera to be turned off.
Dr Kazmi also trains students at different times throughout the year. You will be asked if it is OK for the student(s) to sit in on your appointment. These appointments will be for around 20 minutes and the students may be asked to preform examinations.
