Mental health needs are rising as a direct result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and despite lockdown restrictions slowly lifting, the level of need continues to rise. People are struggling to cope and to keep adjusting to the changing world we are living in.
Mental health is something that affects us all and it can be really hard to know where to go for advice and support, a listening ear, and professional help that’s available immediately without long waiting lists. That is where we come in!
We can help; we can help anyone struggling with their mental health and emotional wellbeing regardless of who they are, what their background is or where their needs have originated from.
Mental Health Matters is a national charity that is passionate about supporting people with mental health and emotional welfare needs.
In Coventry we have a Safe Haven. This a safe place where people can access immediate support if they are feeling distressed, frightened, overwhelmed, feel like things are getting too much for them, perhaps feel suicidal or thoughts of hurting themselves, maybe they’re isolated or are in crisis.
You do not need a diagnosis, you do not need a referral and you do not need an appointment!
The great thing about the MHM Coventry Safe Haven is that it is free, there’s no referral needed, it is easily accessible, the staff are very skilled and experienced, they offer a welcoming, safe, comfortable, non-judgemental and non-clinical environment. MHM Coventry Safe Haven is an out of hours service meaning we are available on evenings for people needing to access support with their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs through visiting the Safe Haven, video sessions calling texting or emailing us.
We are keen to spread the word about our MHM Coventry Safe Haven so that we can provide more support to more people, helping the wider community.
If you are working with anyone who might benefit from MHM Coventry Safe Haven, know people who might benefit from this service outside of your work, or might benefit from this service yourself, please feel free to share our leaflets with them, signpost them to MHM Coventry Safe Haven or come along. You can also visit our Mental Health section of the Wellbeing Centre, for more details.
Due to COVID-19 we are able to currently offer mental health support sessions via video telephone text and email at this present time. We hope to be able to provide face-to-face sessions again in the near future.
Please bear us in mind for any multi agency meetings, networking opportunities, etc.
Please feel free to sign post people in our direction if you feel they could benefit from our support.
If you would like to know more about the service or what we do, or want me to come and talk with your team about how our services can work together please get in touch.
