Coronavirus Advice from Doctors at Copsewood Medical Centre

NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs)

Take paracetamol in preference to Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, naproxen or diclofenac if you think you have COVID-19 and have symptoms that you wish to treat e.g., fever or muscle aches & pains. We think paracetamol in this circumstance is safer, but if you take NSAIDs for other medical conditions e.g. arthritis, do not stop them unless advised by your GP as you may destabilise your condition.

ACE I and ARB (ACE inhibitors & Angiotensin receptor blockers)

Do not stop taking ACE inhibitors e.g. Ramipril, Lisinopril, Perindopril or ARBs, e.g. Candesartan, Irbesartan, Losartan if you have COVID-19 unless your GP tells you to for other reasons. There is no current scientific or clinical evidence that taking these increases your risk of serious illness or death from COVID-19.
