When We Are Closed
If you have an urgent medical problem outside working hours, telephone 111 this NHS service is to be used when a situation is less urgent than 999. NHS 111 will provide information regarding access to medical care. When you contact NHS 111 details will be taken down and you will directed to the appropriate team who can offer advice, assessment and treatment either over the telephone, at a centre and only if necessary as a home visit.
Walk-In Centre
There is an NHS Walk-In Centre located at Coventry City Health Centre, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, CV1 4FH. It is open 7 days a week 8am - 10pm 365 days a year.
They can offer a range of services, if you are unable to attend your own doctor.
Things they can treat:
- infections and rashes
- minor lacerations
- stomach aches
- vomiting and diarrhoea
- hay fever
- insect and animal bites
- removal of stitches (sutures)
- dressing care
- minor cuts and bruises
- minor burns and strains
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
